The German High Command executed a well organized Lapland campaign, which managed to pocket and destroy the entire Soviet army in the north.
During the attack, elite paratroopers were used and help were also provided by local Finnish freedom fighters.

The initial assaults aiming to capture the airfield in the south and trap the Soviets at the same time:

The pocket was reduced and soon destroyed, while the Soviets troops retreating in the east were encircled and destroyed at a later stage:

Edit: Note Murmansk was captured without a fight.

Looks like it was a good session.

The Soviets got seriously punked.

15 divisions or so in North, 4 lost in Baltics, not sure what I lost in Hungarian retreat, if anything.
Down there right now are pocketed some divs, yes.

From what I can see, the Soviet army is still very large and even though they have lost some stuff, it's easily replaceable.
There is a long way to Moscow... In fact no major city have been captured yet One Tooth Grin

Traks when and where did you lose divisions in the Baltics? Did you do a wrong retreat or something?

Edit: I found a Lappland paper dating from 1944... Funny thing is I actually used Dietl as a commander for I. Gebirgskorps, which was responsible for securing Murmansk among other things.
In game he is still alive and kicking Smile

Made a little image showing the forming of the pocket and the estimated number of Russian divisions trapped inside. Is it at all possible that in the next game we could get a few extra people, 2-3 to coop with Traks? At the moment its pretty unfair because he's managing all fronts by himself.

Not that bad really, though not pretty.
Having one more person for SU would be great, as I am overtasked even on speed 1.
Next session will be similar to this one most likely.

I agree we should possibly get someone to coop the Soviets, toh he should be someone with some experience at least, or could be more harmful than beneficial in the end.

About the hungarian retreat you only lost 1 inf division, Tracks, you had way too many mots and tanks there to truly pocket anything real with what was at avail of mobile by my side (2 german pz, 1 german mot, 3 hung mots which cannot blitz even).

Spoken to Fiend and Trask today, and if possible, I could help coop SU in the game. Admittedly, dont have much HOI3 MP experience, but have played plenty in 1 and 2 (actually, I think the Monday Game was were I begon MP'ing back in 2005 or something Big Grin ).

Let me know if I'm welcome, and I'll be there next Monday.

We did, and I vote fully for letting you play. You know basics and how to handle things, so I think it will help SU greatly.
Add Kyril to Allies forum, so he can start checking what's going on and plans.
I can also post save so you can take a look at mess and we can split fronts/responsibilities Smile

Different approach to naval reporting One Tooth Grin
Number of ships sunk by;
Code:
Jap Ger Ita Axis class Uk USA Fra Allies
9   0   0   9     CV    0   2   0    2
2   0   0   2     CVL   0   2   0    2
2   9   3   14    BB    7   1   0    8
0   4   1   5     BC    4   0   0    4
16  12  1   29    CA   13  16   0   29
25  23  1   49    CL    4  16   1   23
18  16  8   42    DD    3   4   1    9
17  10  15  42    SS   13   6   0   19
4   21  6   31    TP    4  17   0   27

That should be right, thou I'm kinda supriced how few small ships have ended up sunk by the USA, makes me wonder if I missed something, but I think it's about right?

Wow, seems like admiral teamIJN (pronounced team-ge-ne) is doing well. Hell, you got almost as many ships as Allies got combined.
