I'd also say "go for it".
Now subs will have much harder times. How bad it is, we will see soon. I hope they did not jump on too big values now.

So as Nationalist Spain I am not FORCED to join either Axis, Allies or Comintern?

No, but if France falls you're going to have a hard time staying out of the Axis.

Time is coming up. We have few things to decide:

1. Are we going to play this Monday?

2. Are we going to use betapatch?

Please state your opinions.

My own:

1. I'm not for hastily start. I'd like to grant enough space for people to talk about their strategies in alliance subforums before game. So if we are going to start this Monday, we should open alliance subforums asap.

2. I don't have enough info to make educated pick. So I'll leave this on those who know more about betapatch.

I'd say yes, this Monday, how ever I'd prefere to use vanilla SF. Mostly because I use steam version and I always go through so much crap to get the same checksum each time they make a new patch :/

Regardless game start, I guess there is no reason to hold back with opening of alliance subforums. So they are up. I believe everyone's included, but in case you can't see yours (Axis or Allies), speak up. Gen.Schuermann/me moderates Axis subforum, Fiendix/Orthank mods Allied subforum. Those guys have the right to include/exclude members from those forums.

I would not want to use a beta patch and not gung ho about starting this monday as I have not really tested semper fi much yet as I got distracted by world cup. Just my opinion, I can start Monday just won't be as prepared.

The world cup will distract you for another 3 weeks too Holy

I used to be distracted because of it when I was younger, but I don't think it'll be the case now. Wink

But I'm sure it'll distract others

It's being decided. So far it seems not using beta has bigger support then using it. Look at the poll.

You mean Beta patch is not used but mod is right?
You should change the bold statement Smile

Yes, we are going with mod on top of vanilla SF 2.0

Take the time to look at what mod changes. There are just following issues it addresses:

  • armor practical is reduced, infantry practical is increased, other changes on light aircraft remains on the same level as it was in Monday Game XIV
  • forts are built faster but more expensive (same IC-days cost)
  • repair speed is upped
  • Italy gets more IC (no change from MG 14)
  • MP events for SU, Romania and USA (basically same as in MG 14 with exception of USA, where they get MP on Vichy and fall of Nat.China)

None of these things were addressed in SF nor in batapatch.
  • Fiendix

There is not Nat.Spain, but Rep.Spain. So no need to move anybody yet. We'll yet see if everyone appears, because according to past experience, there is chance part of newcomers will not appear (I wish I'm wrong though).

Given how little I've actually played HoI3, I'd prefer cooping. Especially as I will have to leave by 2200.

"Hvor fattige var de ikke, disse fiskere som levde av havets nåde! De slet sig gjennom livet uten å se sig om til høire eller til venstre. Deres gleder var få, deres bekymringer mange. Men de hadde allikevel et gemyttlig smil til den fremmede, en munter vise og en lun historie. For sånn er de, disse Sørlandets barn."
