Will be there.
Can anybody else try adding naval units to brits?
Somehow save does not like when I add them. Random submarine and BB needed.

See you tonight.
The recent Axis aggressions concerns the president of USA, but for now we remain at peace.

True. I managed to get save working. Thumbs Up
UK now has ship HMS Rodney2, and 8th Submarine2
Rares are also fixed. I will try to run file compare tool and see what are sub warfare changes.

Okay, more spam Holy
I checked all changes in Units folder.
I dropped out files with changes of only practical, as it is our mod change.

Armor changes:
supply_consumption = 1.33
fuel_consumption = 1.70
To:
supply_consumption = 1.66
fuel_consumption = 3.4

Escort carrier:
sea_attack = 1.00
To:
sea_attack = 0.00

Heavy Tank:
supply_consumption = 1.67
fuel_consumption = 2.30
To:
supply_consumption = 2.0
fuel_consumption = 4.60

Light Tank:
supply_consumption = 1.00
fuel_consumption = 1.15
to:
supply_consumption = 1.33
fuel_consumption = 2.30

Mechanized brigade:
fuel_consumption = 1.15
to:
fuel_consumption = 2.3

Motorized:
fuel_consumption = 0.77
to:
fuel_consumption = 1.00

SP Artillery:
fuel_consumption = 0.58
to:
fuel_consumption = 1.15

SP_rct_artillery
fuel_consumption = 0.43
to:
fuel_consumption = 0.8

Submarines:
convoy_attack = 7.00
to:
convoy_attack = 1.00

Superheavy armor:
supply_consumption = 2.00
fuel_consumption = 1.15
to:
supply_consumption = 2.5
fuel_consumption = 5.5

Tank destroyer:
supply_consumption = 1.33
fuel_consumption = 0.58
to:
supply_consumption = 1.0
fuel_consumption = 1.15

Most likely big changes in sub warfare means that subs now get more benefits from techs.

thats some huge changes for subs from 7 attack to 1!. Maybe there are boosts in the tech section. If so i think we need to pass off these changes untill we finish this game.

Problems with subs is that now they are almost invincible.
I would suggest checking tech folder too and making changes as appropriate, for next week's game.
It is no fun if Allies stay without convoys within 6 months and can't do anything much against that.

Well the loss of 2 old cvs didnt make me happy even though japan got damaged a bit and also lost 1 cv in the end. Plus killing the 9th Corps was a little bonus and made up for last weeks loss.

Seems Italy wasnt really prepared for that attack as their navy got wacked a bit. The remenants seem to be bouncing around and hopefully 1 more battle and it will be all over. Ethiopia seems more or less empty, Tobruk seems well defended, but I should manage.

Only problem atm imo is the sub warfare. Those 1 stack subs are a major pain to find..... Id really like to ammend the balance a bit - although i agree it should be painfull - maybe its a tad too much...:/.

Yes I did not realize I had left that fleet out there and compounded the error by sending more. We shall see if we can recover, but with Soviets in Turkey and Greece I doubt Italy would have much to spare towards naval power anyway.

@Fiendix:
You guys managed to find 4 subs though this session, sinking one. give it more time and techs and you should be better off. i agree though that the convoy sinking gets a little out of hand Wink

Some of all this was Italy's own doing, intervening in Turkey, going for Bulgaria and then for Romania.
Besides, Italy making so many DOW's accrued enough threat for Allies to go for Italy when it is not fully ready.
I am also positively impressed by amount of Italian troops on all borders.

yea and i lost like 300 convoys... 1 sub for 300 is just a tad too much.. Maybe just reduce convoy costs to 1 and leave stats like they are.

I would agree on some solution of nerfing subs.
I did post changes in unit folder, or make cheaper convoys and fixing issue with 2.03 final patch in next game.
Else - UK is suffering, maybe USA is little bit suffering, but even more troubles have Italy and Japan.

as i said around 300 (60 000 icd) + 70 escorts IIRc (21 000icd). Checked at the start of the game the numbers so i have something to compare. I did build a lot of new ones so its mitiagted a bit, however the ratio is just too high. The 6?-9 subs that doing that cost around 7200 icds (4ic x 200 days x 9 subs) - with only 1 loss..

Either lower a bit convoy costs (to 1,5 at least), reduce build time of escorts to 60 days, or maybe make a gentelmens agreement to keep sub stacks of 2 min, so there is a bigger chance to find them.

Of course I do know that my techs are a bit behind as its costly to upgrade those radars. None the less german subs will also have better techs later on and will null most of the advances we make.

And dont get me wrong I am very happy that in HOI3 UK (and all seafareing nations) finally have to worry about this aspect of they game. They should be spending a bit on this.

As i said, i permanently employ 15+ subs to convoy hunting.
And if you have old destroyers and doctrines, that would probably reflect the situation back then pretty well, don't you think?
Without speedy research into radar, the allies would have lost the submarine war.

Also the fact that you intercepted my force 4 times already (with 3 subs barely afloat, and 1 sunk) speaks for itself, that's not too shabby concerning the techs you have and what boats i start with.

But i agree lowering cost on convoys, 1.5 or 1 IC per convoy is pretty good. maybe 1.5 IC and lower cost for escorts to half and buildtime according to convoys? if i dont sink anythign anymore i would have to employ more subs at the same time, making it easier for you to spot again.

1 IC but the same building time maybe?
As I said, in fact Japan is hurt most with this as they can't replace losses so easily as UK.

Lets just invade and subdue Germany instead of finding the pesky subs... It will be quicker and less painful Big Grin
USA didn't lose many convoys to the German raiders this session, but on the other hand we have a very limited amount of shipping in the Atlantic.
