Ok, let's prepare for next session. Yesterday we were able to meet at barely three (me and DEFAULT, later Hytzon came).

Allies
SU - Ederon and juv95hrn
UK - Hytzon
USA - Gen.Schuermann

Axis
Germany - Traks and teamgene
Italy - Forgiven
Japan - Fiendix, Orthank

Given DEFAULT will come and play Japan/Italy, we need just one player for Axis. Let's find the guy till Monday. Ideas?

Felix, check post I linked above. Checksum is there (LRKO I think).

We meet at around 20:15, to give Forgiven enough time to commute home safely.

Can I ask for this save to be used? Back then i argued for adding the SU to the allies, in order to avoid supply and FOW fuckups. I did as such in this save:

EDIT: Still have the right checksum, also Smile goody, i am good to go.

IIRC metaserver does not work for anything but latest FTM patch. So we are bound to IP hosting. I'll host up myself and be at TS too, but in case Traks makes it, he should host.

My IP is 178.40.42.65 ATM, will post when server is up and running.

Just realized you changed ip. 1 min...

EDIT: I have trouble joining. The settings were gone. Reconfiguring that now...

EDIT: I have checksum AJBM now. :-( It's weird because I left that installation on the harddrive all summer...

EDIT: Right IP but no game found... Doh! Are you still there?

Nice to be back in business again.

The long time planned offensive against Irkutsk finally started. (We must have deployed small forces in the area for almost a year now.) Two armoured divisions smashed through the front and three paratrooper divisions were landed behind the lines and cut off the retreat. A perfect example of the Soviet deep operations concept! We managed to surround and eliminate 5 japanese divisions and 3 are fighting to their doom soon enough. This has opened for a push into Mongolia which I think will be liberated soon enough. STAVKA is very content with the progress of the Central Siberian Front.

On all other fronts USSR stands strong. Victory is now only a question of time!

EDIT:

I can't find the old AAR thread on the forums so I started a new one. Its good to make some propaganda for MP games there. Smile

What happened in the Mediterranean? We know there was a large naval battle (or more than one) but what really happened?

Regia Marina tried to land in Tunis/Algiers (Algiers was aborted after Tunis flotillas ran into british fleets...)
There were like 10 naval battles all together, with loss of a lot of screen, Italy taking the heavier beating by far, I think, let's say 2:1 losses or so... ( I lost about 15 ships all together, assuming all my original fleets were 12 ships each, which I think they were)
...Not to mention loss of the 5 light divisions in Tunis after this, though the aerial bombardment of attacking british infantry killed thousands, which smoothed the loss a bit, still, I'd bet that this was 2:1 ratio loss for Italy as well, at least.

I was bit at loss when the sessions started, finding out Italian navy wasn't hiding in the black sea anymore, I concluded that this must be due to some event in the spring drawing away allied fleets from Mediterranean, and without checking this futher (only way of checking would probably alert the brits something was up anyways, and there was always a chance one player might not notice what was going on...) I decided to launch improvised invasion of Africa, originally thinking Tangiers, but there were some spanish divisions there (and more importantly, no airfield) so I opted for shorter transport distance.
The idea that I should even try this was first screw up, second one was trying to land in Tunis proper, it was sound initially, for my ships didn't detect any troops there, but upon trying to land, there turned out to be garrison which delayed offloading of troops for long enough to be caught by the british fleets...
...and well, Air Force, while numerous, was largely waiting for repairs already and failed to achieve decisive superiority in time to matter for naval battles (at all) nor was even the followup land based retreat fully covered, though I do count the air war as Italian victory, it was only be small margin.
