I don't mind an extra copy, really. I have 3 already (not sure why?)

Lately we used moddir, and I think that is better.
But, whatever takes less work for you.
I think we can skip mapproject as it changes provinces and stuff, which may cause extra troubles - events and AI behaviour.

I also think - if we want game, we have to start picking people/countries.
If we don't manage to make all changes in code in meantime, I am fine with that. Last version was pretty balanced, only big thing to improve would be extra leadership to SU.

I'm interested if we plan on playing mondays.

Remember that the release of 3.06 is only weeks away.

I guess I'd like to play UK, SOV or GER.

I now have 2 PCs setup so I could qutie easily manage my major and one minor nation at the time, giving production orders, reserach and sending exp forces. This of course would make fx UK more powerful but that could be compensated by delaying the US entry. In 3.05 its quite hard to get USA into the war early. If we have a spare player or someone has an extra PC set up someone else could do the same for the other team.

Do we have any other house rules planned?

I'll link you to a thread for a game that I am setting up so you do know what features in the game I think deserve attention balance wise in the game for 3.05:

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?602578-Sign-up-for-the-first-3.06-campaign-as-soon-as-it-comes-out!-(mon-wen-or-thursday)

And btw I didn't know this thread existed. That's why I haven't been active here.

When can we get this rolling?

Btw, M&M is still alive!

I think we have Ederon as Germany and Fiendix as USA or UK. Traks what is your preference?

Actually I would like to play USSR, but can play Japan as well if needed.

Juv do you have some inside knowledge on when we can expect the 3.06 patch?

An update. After short meeting with Hytzon in Copenhagen we've agreed I'm way too lazy and should think about myself. And kick my ass to finishing our mod, so we can kick off soon.

Thus I'll finally do my job this week, so we have our game version by the end of Friday. Also, we should get some insights from juv/Paradox, when there is gonna be next patch and if within reasonable time, we might want to wait for that patch. If it's nowhere near completition within let's say 3 weeks or month, we should start ASAP.

Another key point is getting enough people. One reliable per country is enough. I know handling country like SU can be hard, but it's what we used to do in the past and it's doable. There only needs to be balance in terms of Axis/Allies number of players.

If we can get things right in all the areas mentioned, starting in two weeks is what we might want to aim for. If patch is coming out soon, we'll start with it's release +1(at most) week, to allow mod merge.

Huzzah!

Ederon I am impressed with your sudden spark of enthusiasm!

Btw. I put the Swedes we met on some sort of a party bus! It's a bus that drives around Copenhagen at night and operates as a rolling disco with music, drinks etc. They were naturally pretty excited about it Cool

Hehe, I have no doubts. Smile

I was reading through juv's thread on PI for his planned campaign, which is supposed to start once new patch is out. He expects it around 31st May. That means we should really wait for the patch.

Well its in public beta now, I don't know how long that phase will last: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?608119-FTM-3.06-Public-Beta-Patch

A few key things that will affect defense:
- Tactical bombing of supplies now makes more balanced damage (also greater damage due to low or damaged infra, and non-linear damage deduction due to aspect of suplies per demanded).
- The similar bombing damage fix for infra,aa,ic (non-linear damage reduction).
- Units at low org should recover faster
- units can dig in to higher levels

Other fun stuff I find interesting in MP
- Fixed exploit bug about instant kill of units retreating to province where enemy paratroopers are fighting with your units.
- amphibious landing is impossible for HQs unless invading together with other units. Observe, that HQ will move after the troops conquers the coast, which is more realistic.
- winter effect slows down movement instead of increasing it.
- Selection group shortcuts (ctrl+<n> ) are now included in the save file, and tied to a given country (also works in multiplayer).
- Fixed an issue where a player's unit could get assigned to different theatre after loading a multiplayer save-game.

You can't say civilization don't advance - for in every war, they kill you in a new way.

I'll install the beta and eventually prepare the mod on it. Then we can decide. Wait for official (if not too long) or go with beta. Which usually tends to be same thing as FTM, just repacked.

They published list of major changes. I like all of them, and they solve some of problems we solved in our mod.
Increased ARM cost.
Reworked defensive modifiers.
Improved org regain when low on org.

So I repeat that we can keep our mod changes to minimum.

We can indeed reduce changes in our mod. It'll be obvious what is to be left when I make the merger.

Another interesting change:

it went from:
################################################## ########################
# Global Static Modifiers
################################################## ########################

base_values = {
war_consumer_goods_demand = 0.15
peace_consumer_goods_demand = 0.25
global_leadership = 2
ic = 5
}

to:

################################################## ########################
# Global Static Modifiers
################################################## ########################

base_values = {
war_consumer_goods_demand = 0.15
peace_consumer_goods_demand = 0.25
global_manpower = 4
global_leadership = 3.5
ic = 5
}

What does it mean? Is that global mapower/leadership modifier multiplier or raw constant addition?

In the mean time you can come play EU3 with us on Tuesdays.
Or get RUS and play with me and Ike.

Raw constant addition. Minors are slightly more viable, as everybody gets additional leadership and manpower. That also makes Allies slightly stronger, which is good.

Sorry Anders, I tried to get to like EU3, but I don't like much after all.

Try Revolution Under Siege then. I'm sure you can "find" a copy somewhere on the internet...
It's awesome, and hopefully Paradox will make an update, like they're doing with Napoleon's Campaigns.

So it's constant modifier, right?

Yes, not multiplier but simple addition. +2 off-map leadership and +4 manpower (which is really negligible for big boys, but gives SOME more to small fries).
Tank research now is pretty hard, especially heavy and superheavy. Cost is raised from 9 to 12.50 (or around that).
Light armor 9 instead o 6.33
