Did everyone have possibility to play Wednesday the 15th or should we re-schedule?
I don't remember what was said but I had a feeling that there were some issues.

So I think that we are game on the 15th.
I´m eager to continue where we left last time Smile

I'm in.

The Eastern Front is crumbling, as I predicted. If you want the campaign to last you have to make edits for the Axis or the game is over in 1942. It is now to late for Germany to take up positions in the Carpathians and the Balkan front is too long for the available forces. Axis minor infantry faced Soviet Medium armour on the steppes of Ukraine piecemeal with predictable result. The Belyarus front isn't broken quite yet but is being pushed back. The only place holding in the Axis line is in Albania and on the Finnish-Swedish border.

Give Germany 50 divisions so that we can have a proper game.

It's probably hell to edit/mod in. I would suggest Germany loads up the save and put those 50 divisions in a build-queue (at the top of the build queue) and then make a save and send to me.
It would make modding said units into the regular save MUCH easier I believe. I see no other method tbh as manually adding units through manipulating such a "late war" save-game might break stuff.

What I can do however is to run the game with the AI off and let those units finish building and then take the save and mod them back into the old game.

Reminder: I am on a business trip with no internet access next week 22nd Oct. Might be a good idea to still meet up and discuss and test out balancing edits / savegame modding needed on the east front though?

That would have to be some pretty hefty modding. Maybe weather, supply and distance can prolong the occupation of Germany until the bad weather hits but all in all nothing short of a wonder will stop the Soviet juggernaut heading towards Berlin.

After this game I am up for HOI3, CK2, EU4, whatever people decides on.

the extra divisions on the eastfront did nothing to stop the juggernaut, that modding came too late. Even if w recived 100 more divisions it would still be too late as they ll never regain org. or will get up to phase with the doctrines. But we ll discuss it tomorrow how and what to do.
I can include also that I now have CK2, dont know much how it works, but so far so good

I´m ready to talk about the ongoing game and the future this evening.

I have the following games from Paradox:
EU IV (no expansions)
CK II ( The Old Gods expansion)

I would vote for EUIV because the mechanics are probably easier to grasp for those who haven't played before. On the other hand I think CKII would be more fun because of the dynamic gameplay.

Update on next game day!

Next game day will unfortunately not be until 12 November since bpoitier is in the USA(Texas) from 29 Oct to 5 Nov.

He also told me that he was not so interested to continue the HOI 3 session.
I can be wrong about this, but that was my gut feeling when I spoke with him yesterday.
It´s to late to save Germany now I believe...

So if we decide so ,then we have to decide what to play.

EU IV
CIV 5
CK II
HOI 3

I have all except CIV 5.

If we choose HOI 3 I would suggest a later start year ,so the big war starts earlier. Then more can be in the war faster.
This I think is a good solution since HOI IV is going in spring and we will not I think continue a HOI 3 game anymore when it´s out.

CK II is allot of fun to play.
EU IV is nice ,but I feel more for CK II if it comes between those two .

So what do you people think we should play until HOI IV???

How about HOI3 with a later starting point and custom start where you allocate points yourself for the different techs etc. ? It could be a fun twist for the game.

And yes, as soon as HOI4 hits the market I'll pick it up and HOI3 will probably be retired from my computer, that is if HOI4 actually manages to deliver on an epic and emotional level Smile

I'm not feeling for another HoI3 game really.
Especially not if we think we may convince Paradox to give out a few more HoI4 beta keys so we can "test" multiplayer later during the autumn/winter

I have most other games mentioned here:

EU IV
CIV 5
CK II

My vote goes for Civ 5 since we probably could finish a game in just a few weeks unless we have marathon setting / huge map or something like that.

Also a big fan of space strategy games like Endless space, Sword of the Starts I/II or Star Ruler. Or Perhaps just some quick RTS like Planetary Annihilation or Supreme Commander.
( yes I have alot of games... Smile )

I have CKII, EU IV and I can play HOI3 again. It feels like we should go with the Paradox titles. If I have to vote I might go for CKII since I never played that in MP. I played EUII MP a lot back in the day. Diplomacy is a lot more important than actual game play most of the time. CKII I think is so luck based that we would have to regards it as something we play for the giggles and not as a competitive game. I think the randomness makes it almost impossible to create much of a stratagem but of course one can try. I think we would have fun throwing each other in the dungeon and demanding outrageous ransoms and so on. :-)

If we would play HOI3 the 1936-1939 usually takes 3 sessions at the most if Italy and Japan agrees to play on speed 3-4 with occasional pausing used with restraint.

But I could go for a 1939 start.

And yes the Russian juggernaut will not be stopped, as I hinted before the war started. 9 monts of game play to face a huge army westward for 2 sessions is not my greatest gaming experience ever I have to admit. But feel free to browse the Red Army if you want to. Its quite powerful. 75 armoured divisions, half heavy&guard, half medium, about 2000 brigades at 140 LS ratio, a large airforce, paratroopers, lots of AT and TD. Knowing what I know now it is a very good idea to hit USSR no later than 1941. 1940 even if possible.

My computer can't handle Civ5 in any case as it currently stands. Having huge problems with several machines right now and the only one working properly is more suited to CK2 or similar.

I can play HOI3 new game or continue with the old, I can play EUIV or CK2, doesn't really matter to me as long as we can play in this awesome group.
Just give me a date, time and the game to play and I'm there.

I think that maybe we should play a Paradox game to get the feel of the multi player mechanism.

So CK 2 or EU 4 comes to mind then ,but HOI 3 is also OK for me.

Maybe we we have to do a split where some plays one of the games and the rest a other.

If some gets beta-keys it´s great. for those people.

Anyway when HOI 4 gets out I guess that we all will focus on that game.
I also think that we can get in more players for that game.

So lets play something not so serious .
Lets just have some fun until we all can play HOI 4 Smile

Next date is 12 November ,so until then it would be great if we all have decided what to play.

Maybe we should do a list about in what order we would like too play games, like 1,2 and 3.
