Well, I'm not sure what would be my first choice, but maybe France, Austria or US. What's your preference guys? Gerard would like to be Ottoman, Hytzon Russia. Anyone else?

My first choice would be Austria, because I'd like to see how well I can get it through the liberal revolution in MP. However, I won't be able to finish so I'll take which ever nation is left, should I take on one of the major nations, I'll try to organize a sub once I'm off.

Something like that, it's not important. Suffice it to say I won't end the game.

As i previously put, a smaller nation for now would suit me fine. I would like to go with Bavaria, maybe. Or Argentina, Central America, or maybe even Sweden. Japan would also be nice. Oh yeah, and China, too yay

Well those would be my guesses. Hmm, even the US would be interesting.

Give me an incredibly powerful nation at start, and watch me run it into the ground! Big Grin
UK or Prussia. Or maybe I should pick a weak nation, so people won't have an excuse to gang up on me that much? Sweden or Persia perhaps? Or Switzerland?

After testing it out, I think I'd like Switzerland.

Yeah, I think the Big Nine should be filled first, perhaps with the exception of Japan if we want a euro-centric game.

Okey, Prussia then. But only because I like Prussian blue better than British pink.

I'd love to play with you guys again, but unfortunately its a big year for me in uni (among other sporting activities) so I won't have the time. :-(
However, I may have the time to sub now and then, so you can count on me as a possible substitute if someone needs one. I'll be sure to tell you if I can do so or not.

I'd love to try the US, bring it up to a power that can shake down the UK (unless anders takes it, in which case it'll self destruct on its own Tongue) or I could try russia but a few people seems to want that too.

Anders wrote:

You are aware that it was gobbled up pretty early between france, italy and later germany as well.

Btw, it might be interesting to try a "new world" game where we get nations such as brazil, mexico.....etc and try to bring them to great power status while fighting each other. I think it'd make for an interesting alternative story, besides the AI seems more then adept with prussia & the UK.

Also, are we gonna try VIP ? While its not prepared for MP nobody said it doesn't work, so I think we should give it a shot.

As far as I can discern, VIP for revolutions has too many events, which makes the game much too slow for MP, unless we want to keep having 4-hour sessions that run 2 game-years.

As for Switzerland, I'm sure Prussia, France, Austria and Sardinia/Italy would see the benefit of having a neutral state separating them... Holy

Nations, in order of preference:

Japan, Austria, Russia, Sardinia-Piedmont, the Ottoman Empire, the USA, the UK (if India is turned into a satellite a la VIP).

I wouldn't be for using VIP. It probably significantly alters whole game and as said few times, it's not MP friendly (yet?). My first concern is because I'd be totally out of picture (Again Tongue). But that's just my pref Wink

Anyway, what kind of game we want? Eurocentric/New World as M&M proposes/minors games/something else? Personally, I'd be either for another Eurocentric game or New World/Arabia game (if there is something like that possible, Persia, OE, ...my situation awarness is rather poor in this are).

I think we should play at least one more game with major powers, as we need to get the ruleset right and test it now. But I do agree it could prove an interesting game in the future.
As Anders said, VIP has to many events it will be to slow and I imagine some of the events could mess a MP game up / make it crash.

As Ederon said, I would very much like to play the Russians.

If I am able to work it out so I can play, my choices in order of preference are usa, brazil, mexico, and spain.

Neutral? Why do I doubt that?

Don't know. Must be your obstructive pessimism.
Has anyone of you actually tested Switzerland? I have, and I really must say I understand Swiss neutrality.

LOL LOL I prefer to think of it as "objective realism"

Understanding it is one thing, but actually enforcing it is something else. I doubt switzerland played by anders would sit idly beside 3 or 4 giant nations and not be influenced in one way or another. Infact I'd expect a greater switzerland incorporating all those nations LOL
