Due lack of time and the ammount of events needed to descripe the situation in Rus, we decided to skip the comics for this week and instead write down a narrative of events that led Rus into its state of missery it was at the end of last session.

Ever since the generous assitance of the southern neighbours from Ruthenia, King Steinn The Frog had one major dilemma and proplem: The Duke of Novgorod, the former king of Rus from which the Ruthenians unsurped the King tittle and handed it over to Steinn. That duchdom was large, basicly half of the size of the whole Rus. Unlike Steinn, the Duke of Novgorod was not included the Lord Jesus of Nazareth into his heart, he was able to continue rather ruthless expansion in Karelia and in the Baltics. Altough seen in the outside that the Kingdom of Rus was expanding, it was not King Steinn but the Duke of Novgorod that grew in size and power. So there was King Steinn haunted by the shadow of its most powerfull vassal and left pondering what shall he do. Should he strike the Duke with the help of its new Ruthenian brothers in faith? Or trying a move behind the curtains and eat out the super-duchdom inside? King Steinn seeked counceling from his pieers. Ruthenians emphasized Force, others guided to use intrigue. Some even told King Steinn to not to worry, it wasen't moving anywhere and at the moment not even harvesting any plans to challenge King Steinn....at least not publicly. In the end King Steinn the Frog took the later advice and stood still and kept close eye on what ever his vassal might be up to.

King Steinn was not free from other proplems as well. Prior to his coronation into King Of Rus, Steinn had a proplem of producing legitimate heir. Not that Steinn was anyway incapable in front of the fair sex, hence his nickname(?!) but despite 3 wifes and at least dozens or so different concubines Steinn was not able to seed other than girls. But as said, The Frog was a Frog and a son was born to his lover in which Steinn imidiately legimitized as his own. Fearing that the not-so-respectable roots of his heir would cause him proplem in the future, little did Steinn knew that it was indeed the 7 daughters that played important role in Kingdom of Rus fate.

The shaddow of the superduke however did not let King Steinn alone and dark ideas infested Steinns mind. He kept seeking council of his fellow european rules of which the catholic ones kept saying "don't worry, if your luck runs out, there is always the Holy orders, ready to fight against the enemies of the true faith, such as rebelious vassals and what not's". Thus King Steinn felt that it was time to deal with the matter and he demanded the duke tittle of Novgorod to himself. Naturally the Duke of Novgorod refuses and the council of the king was divided and a civil war broke out. But no worries, the Holy orders will come to King Steinn rescue....

...exept they didn't. Someone else had already hired the two available Holy order stacks. So King Steinn was facing a revolt larger than his own forces and all his allies and friends tied up in far away in foreign wars more important than his own. But king Steinn was not beaten nor paralazed...no, he went on begging. Begging for money from every possiple direction and was able to cather around enough to hire regular merceneries. Ruthless battles ravaged the land of Rus as neither side managed to gain the upper hand but the persistence of King Steinn the Frog prevailed and eventually King Steinn had the upper hand. However in the mist of the battle, the enemy had decleared independence and the rumours in the courts of europa was that King Steinn wouldn't be able to win back the rebelling vassals despite defeating them in the war. And despite the upper hand, the war had put heavy toll on Kingdom of Rus and the money for the merceneries was running out. Thus King Steinn made a hard decision and asked white peace. But what did the gossib-girls of European courts knew!, Realm was back in one piece tough with still the powerfull super-duchdom of Novgorod intact. In the mist of the battle, the eastern-most vassals had been snapped out by pagan realms of the east.

So the first encounterment with the superduke left Kingdom of Rus barely above the water and underlined the fact that taking down the superduke wont go wihtout friends. In the meantime King Steinn started re-capture the departed eastern vassals always on the edge of beign too tyranical or raising the vassal levies too long...nothing to give the superduke any more reasons to rebel. During one of the re-conquering wars did King Steinn finally meet his makers and moved to the diocese beyond the borders of men. His legimitized bastard-son Milic was the new King of Rus.

King Milic took over the throne during the war of recapturing Suzdal and despite it was a easy win, it ended up in rather obscure proplem. Of the 7 sisters of Milic, 6 were captured by the Countess of Suzdal. As Milic was always been looked down upon by his elder sisters due his orgins, he had unbearable need to please his sisters and seek approvance from them even after he had sat down to the throne. Thus Milic willingly paid the ransoms of his sisters. He felt that no ammount was big enough for the freedom of his sisters. It's only money, love and family is more important. Right?

...Money...Sisters....approval...One can only imagine what went on Milics head when the Superduke of Novgorod decided to demand the throne of Rus back and Milic standing in his castle with 75 ducats and 7 sisters nagging that he might not be the King that Rus needs that perhaps the Novgorodian Prince is right...
